Just know, I do understand that there is an overload of information when it comes to our health. Industries are very good at marketing their products. There is a whole team that looks at algorithms and demographics. It’s from those statistics of how they can tap into our weakness and get us to buy the next quick fix.
Do you really think those paid famous actors and athletes promoting products actually take them? Of course, not. Companies know that people are easily suckered in by using famous people.
How many of you are taking multi-vitamins? Did you know that if you eat healthy balanced meals, you’ll get all the vitamins necessary. Believe me, most of that multi-vitamin tablet is not being absorbed. It, plus your money is going into the toilet.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There are some essential supplements that have benefits. For example; Vitamin D for immune system, Omega-3 Fish Oil for heart health and inflammation, Magnesium for sleep quality, nerve and energy function, and lastly, Calcium for bone health. There’s more, but these are the basics for older people.
If you’re in your late 60’s, 70’s and beyond, eat and do what ever you want as long as you exercise regularly. I’m not suggesting eating fried food every day, but enjoy life and don’t worry about the extra fat around the waist, saggy skin dripping off the arms, or the wrinkles and turkey neck. To me, it’s people’s love for life, confidence and attitude that make them attractive.
Recently, as I’m turning 65-years old, I was analyzing my body in a full-length mirror. I was shaking my head as I looked at Tina and said “wow, I can’t believe age has caught up”. She gave a reality check for me to get over it because she still thinks I’m her sexy man.
So, what about you? Don’t get suckered into the next easy fix. Stop weighing your food and counting calories. It’s too much work, plus you’ll quit – again. Dieting is only about portion control.
Listen, the best fountain of youth is through weight training. Quit buying useless products because you’re looking for easy results. Get off the couch, buy some dumbbells or join a local gym and start lifting weights.
